Let's go.

Cut back to the pool: stillness, a tap. A tight shot of the phone. No music.

Back and forth. Calm, chaos, calm, chaos. Each cycle a little shorter than the last.

Bellhop abandoning a luggage cart mid-load, packages toppling. A golf attendant flooring a cart, sunglasses on, absolutely locked in. Feet. Wheels. Doors. A shortcut through a kitchen, because you cannot pay homage Hughes sequence without that kitchen shot. And it gives you a hit of pure geography. Getting closer.

The camera changes personality here too. Poolside stays still chill, long-lensed — it never learns that anything is happening. But the running coverage gets aggressive and handheld and low: cameras at ankle height for the golf cart, a camera backpedalling in front of a sprinting bellhop, whip panning from one runner to the next like a relay baton. I want at least one shot where somebody runs directly past the lens, close enough to feel the wind.

THE CONVERGENCE

A hand, a wheel, wheels on gravel, a tray, a shoulder, the case snapping open, a face, a face, a face — cut so fast the audience can't assemble it, sound piling chimes on top of each other into a single tone. And then: hard stop. Total silence, one clean wide, everybody standing perfectly still, arranged, waiting.

CASTING

The staff casting is going to be SO FUN and I want to spend real time on it. These are not background artists. These are specific human beings with specific comic physicalities — the tall gangly one who runs like an awkward bird, the compact one who's genuinely, terrifyingly fast, the one who is clearly not built for this and is doing it anyway out of sheer professionalism. Everybody plays it straight. Nobody mugs. The moment somebody signals that they know they're in a comedy, the spot dies. I'd like to see runners in the casting session actually run.

Damn, I’m excited for this one! Serious, serious big action piece. Nice one.
